In March of 2008, I became I volunteer on my favorite shortline railroad, the Yreka Western out of Yreka, CA, about 1.5
hours north of Redding. We operate about 7.5 miles of track between YReka and Montague, CA and operate steam passenger excursions
with our steam locomotive, the 19, also called Pancho. Railfans will know this locmotive as "Shack's Train" seeing as how
it was the star in the movie "Emperor of the North".
I am currently a brakeman and must say I am having a blast doing the real railroad work. This and the other pages here
are all on the Yreka Western.
